With the commencement of the football season and a new academic year, Amazon is significantly broadening the reach of its innovative Just Walk Out AI-powered shopping technology, now operational in approximately two dozen new venues spread across NFL stadiums and U.S. college campuses.
Initially introduced in 2018, this checkout-free system is gaining traction with seven fresh installations at Commanders Field in Washington, D.C., and an additional six sites at Lumen Field in Seattle. This expansion brings the total number of Just Walk Out locations at the home of the Seahawks to 15, making it the most extensive deployment of this technology at any venue worldwide.
In addition to these expansions, Amazon is unveiling an RFID store at Lumen Field, which allows for seamless, checkout-free purchases of soft items such as clothing, hats, and other fan gear. The Baltimore Ravens’ home, M&T Bank Stadium, is also incorporating its first Just Walk Out location.
