Service robotics manufacturer Pudu Robotics has launched a new AI-powered robotic sweeper designed for large-scale environments like warehouses and manufacturing plants.
Equipped with AI-driven features, the PUDU MT1 can clean regions exceeding roughly 1.1 million square feet. The robot’s AI capabilities allow it to identify and categorize waste, distinguishing real trash from non-trash items. It also efficiently patrols large areas with a wide scanning field of view, activating the cleaning mechanism only when necessary.
In addition to its AI features, the robot uses lidar SLAM and VSLAM for route optimization, ensuring thorough coverage with minimal redundancy. It can adjust to layout changes and integrate with IoT devices such as elevators and gates, enabling multi-floor cleaning. Real-time updates, visualized cleaning reports, and notifications when the trash is full can be accessed through remote monitoring apps and PC interfaces.
Traditional cleaning methods in expansive settings like home improvement stores, warehouses, and manufacturing plants are often labor-intensive and less efficient. The combined AI-powered capabilities of the PUDU MT1 can enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high hygiene standards, according to Pudu Robotics.
“The scale and complexity of modern facilities require advanced cleaning solutions that go beyond traditional methods,” said company founder and CEO Felix Zhang. “The AI capabilities of our PUDU MT1 deliver the intelligence and automation essential for keeping extensive areas meticulously clean, meeting the high expectations for hygiene and operational efficiency in large environments.”
Other features of the robot include an intuitive touchscreen interface for easy operation and customization, and an extended handle for manual intervention, facilitating transitions between areas and semi-outdoor tasks. The robot can navigate narrow passages as slim as 29.5 inches, overcome obstacles up to three-quarters of an inch, and traverse gaps up to 1.3 inches for edge-to-edge cleaning. It has a 6-hour battery life and offers 24/7 cleaning when paired with its charging dock.
This is the third cleaning product in Pudu Robotics’ lineup. Earlier in the year, the China-based company launched the PUDU T300, an autonomous robot for logistics workflows. The company is dedicated to enhancing human productivity and living standards through innovative robot technology and holds nearly a thousand authorized patents worldwide, encompassing a wide range of core technologies.
